Its use is indicated for the \u003cstrong\u003etemporary relief of congestion, redness and mild irritation in the eyes of\u003c\/strong\u003e irritative and\/or allergic origin, caused by external agents, such as: tobacco smoke, dust, pollution, dry or stuffy environments, sunlight, chlorinated water or sea water, reading or work requiring prolonged fixation of the eyes.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eWho it is intended for\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSuitable for use by adults and adolescents over 12 years of age. Specifically, the following have been observed: pupil dilation, increased pressure inside the eye (intraocular), effects due to absorption into the body (increases in blood pressure, cardiac disorders and increased blood sugar), headache and nausea.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRarely, itching after application has been observed.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePossible rare occurrence of continuous redness and irritation of the eye.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUnknown frequency: conjunctivitis, eye pain.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eVery rarely: opaque areas on the cornea.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn predisposed patients and with use in higher than recommended amount or frequency, palpitations, tremor, weakness and sweating may occur.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAllergic reaction to any of the ingredients may also occur.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eComposition\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe active substance in Centilux is naphazoline\u003c\/strong\u003e hydrochloride. One ml of eye drops contains 0.25 mg naphazoline hydrochloride (0.025%).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe other excipients: benzalkonium chloride, sodium chloride, sodium phosphate dibasic dodecahydrate, sodium phosphate monobasic monohydrate, methylthioninium chloride (methylene blue) and purified water.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003ePharmaceutical advice\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is a medicated eye drop in a blue liquid solution in a 10 ml dropper bottle.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDo not wear contact lenses while using this medicine. Remove them and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back in.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDo not use this medicine if you notice that the solution changes colour or becomes cloudy.
