Effitix Xs Parasite Treatment for Very Small Dogs (1.5–4 kg), pack of 2

Effitix XS Pack 2 is a two-pack format for dogs weighing between 1.5 and 4 kg. It contains 2 boxes of 4 pipettes, comprising a total of 8 single-dose pipettes of 0.44 ml each.

This veterinary medicine combines fipronil and permethrin. It is applied to the skin to treat fleas or ticks and also provides protection against sand flies or mosquitoes.

It is effective against adult fleas and ticks. Its long-lasting protection against new infestations lasts for 4 weeks. It also provides anti-feeding repellent activity against Phlebotomus perniciosus and the mosquitoes Culex pipiens and Aedes aegypti for 4 weeks.

Repellency reduces contact with these vectors, but does not completely rule out the possibility of a bite or the transmission of infectious agents.

Each 0.44 ml pipette contains 26.8 mg of fipronil and 239.8 mg of permethrin. It contains 0.088 mg of butylhydroxyanisole (E320), 0.044 mg of butylhydroxytoluene (E321), benzyl alcohol and diethylene glycol monoethyl ether.

1. Weigh the dog to confirm that it weighs between 1.5 and 4 kg.
2. Remove the pipette, hold it upright and snap off the tip along the indicated line.
3. Part the fur until the skin is visible.
4. Apply the contents at two points along the back, from the shoulders towards the base of the tail.

Use an XS-sized pipette. The interval between applications should be at least 4 weeks. The specific frequency depends on the risk of exposure and the vet’s judgement.

It is intended for dogs weighing between 1.5 and 4 kg. It must not be used before 12 weeks of age or on sick or convalescing animals.

In very rare cases, itching, redness or hair loss may occur in the treated area. Agitation, lethargy, tremors, vomiting or temporary salivation have also been reported if the dog licks the product. Contact your vet if you notice any signs.

• Never use on cats or rabbits. Permethrin can be fatal to cats.
• Keep your dog away from cats until the treated area is completely dry.
• Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth and broken skin.
• Do not bathe your dog in open water for the following 2 days.
• Consult your vet during pregnancy or whilst the dog is nursing.
