Wheelchairs are assistive devices that facilitate the movement of people who have permanently lost, either totally or partially, the ability to move around.

There is a wide variety of wheelchairs. A key classification is based on wheel size. Wheelchairs with large rear wheels allow people with sufficient arm strength to propel themselves independently.
