A topical haemorrhoid treatment that acts as an anti-inflammatory and local anaesthetic. 30g pack.

Cohortan is a topical medicine designed to relieve the symptoms of pain, itching, stinging and inflammation associated with haemorrhoids in adults.
Cohortan is for use by adults.
Apply a small amount of Cohortan ointment topically to the anal and/or rectal area 2 to 3 times a day.
Cohortan must not be applied to open wounds or mucous membranes, and you should consult your doctor before use if you are taking or using any other medication.
Like any medicine, Cohortan may cause adverse effects: blurred vision, changes in or hypersensitivity of the application site, sodium and water retention with oedema, shifts in calcium and phosphate levels, elevated blood glucose levels, delayed wound healing and an increased susceptibility to infections.
Cohortan must not be applied to open wounds or mucous membranes. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
The active ingredients in Cohortan are hydrocortisone (anti-inflammatory) and cinchocaine hydrochloride (local anaesthetic). Thus, each gram of ointment contains 5 mg of hydrocortisone and 5 mg of cinchocaine hydrochloride. The excipients accompanying the active ingredients are: castor wax, ?-tocopherol, liquid paraffin and solid paraffin.
Cohortan should not be used for more than 7 days in a week; if symptoms persist, worsen or bleeding occurs, you should consult your doctor. It must not be applied to open wounds. It is recommended that the ointment be applied in the morning and at night, after a bowel movement and once the area has been cleaned. First, clean the area with warm water and soap, then apply the ointment using a clean gauze pad or the applicator provided in the case of internal haemorrhoids. Wash your hands before and after each application.
