What is it and what is it for?

Medela Reusable Graduated Cups is a pack with 10 units of containers designed and tested in the laboratory to achieve an adequate collection and supply process mainly of breast milk, in order to be able to feed babies with controlled quantities when mothers are unable to breastfeed.

This is a cost-effective alternative that has been specially developed for these circumstances:

  • Babies who are premature, fragile or have difficulty breastfeeding and who must be fed in short periods of time with small amounts of breastmilk.
  • Administration of medication.
  • Feeding infants with small portions of supplements.

The graduated cup system makes it easy to control the amount of breast milk to be given to the baby. In addition, the anatomical design of each cup facilitates sucking by babies, without generating rejection or other problems derived from confusion of the container with the nipple.

This product was developed under strict supervision of professionals in paediatrics and nutrition from Productos Medicinales Medela, a Spanish company specialised in breastfeeding solutions for babies and mothers. You can get it with total confidence in the Farmaciasdirect online shop.

Who is it suitable for?

Medela Reusable Graduated Cups are recommended for supplying breast milk, food supplements or medication to babies with breastfeeding difficulties or with sucking difficulties due to low birth weight or premature birth, Down's syndrome or cleft lip or cleft palate.

It can also be used as a solution for babies without such conditions, but who are going through situations that affect their health temporarily and make the breastfeeding process difficult for them.

How to use

After pouring the appropriate amount of milk, supplement or medicine to be given to the baby into the Medela cup, the anatomical nozzle should be placed on the infant's lower lip so that the baby sucks and swallows at his or her own pace. It is important that this process is done with the baby in an upright or half-tilted position to prevent choking.

After use, they should be washed with plenty of hot water and neutral soap. They are compatible with sterilising machines.

Contraindications

This product should be stored away from heat sources such as sunlight, cookers or microwave ovens. Prolonged exposure to high temperatures may cause deformation of the vessels.
