Normostop 50 mg is a medicine containing 50 mg of dimenhydrinate, an active ingredient indicated for the prevention and relief of dizziness, nausea, vomiting and vertigo caused by travel by car, bus, boat, aeroplane or other means of transport.
Dimenhydrinate works by helping to reduce the discomfort associated with travel sickness, making it a practical option for those who suffer from motion sickness whilst travelling. It is available in a pack of 12 coated tablets.
It is indicated for adults and children over 2 years of age who experience nausea, dizziness, vertigo or vomiting associated with movement whilst travelling.
It is recommended to take Normostop 50 mg at least 30 minutes before setting off on your journey.
The dose varies according to age:
If necessary, the dose may be repeated every 8 hours, without exceeding the maximum recommended dose stated in the package leaflet.
Normostop may cause side effects, as with all medicines. If they do occur, they are usually mild and short-lived. The most common are nausea, vomiting or stomach ache, although the following may also occur: loss of appetite, dry mouth, drowsiness or difficulty passing urine.
Normostop capsules contain 50 mg of dimenhydrinate as the active ingredient. The excipients are: microcrystalline cellulose, calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, sodium glycolate potato starch, hydroxypropyl cellulose, quinoline yellow, sodium saccharin, anhydrous colloidal silica and magnesium stearate.
