Biorga Minoxidil 50 mg/ml, equivalent to 5 per cent, is a topical solution for the treatment of gradual hair loss in adults.

Minoxidil Biorga 50 mg/ml is a medicine in the form of a topical solution, designed to be applied directly to the scalp. It contains minoxidil as the active ingredient, at a concentration of 50 mg per ml of solution, which is equivalent to a 5% concentration .
It is indicated for the treatment of gradual hair loss in adults, helping to stimulate hair growth in cases of progressive thinning or hair loss on the top of the head.
It comes in a handy pack containing 3 x 60 ml bottles.
It is intended for adults aged between 18 and 65, both men and women, who are experiencing thinning or progressive hair loss on the top of the scalp.
In men, it is mainly used in cases of hair loss localised on the top of the head. In women, it can be used in cases of generalised thinning of the hair, always following the recommended instructions for use of this medicine.
The usual dosage is 2 ml per day, divided into two applications: 1 ml in the morning and 1 ml in the evening.
Apply directly to the affected area of the scalp, ensuring the hair is completely dry. Spread the product using your fingertips, gently massaging from the centre outwards across the area to be treated.
Wash your hands before and after each application. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose, as applying a larger amount does not improve results and may increase the risk of adverse effects.
Results are not immediate. It may be necessary to continue treatment for at least 4 months to assess its effectiveness. At the start of treatment, temporary hair loss may be observed, related to the product’s effect on the hair growth cycle.
Do not use Minoxidil Biorga 50 mg/ml:
In people under 18 years of age.
If you are allergic to minoxidil or any of the excipients in this medicine.
In cases of scarring alopecia, i.e. where the skin has scars, ulcers or burns.
In cases of alopecia areata, characterised by sudden hair loss in localised areas.
If the affected area is red, swollen, irritated or painful, for example, due to a severe sunburn or seborrhoeic dermatitis.
If the hair loss is associated with pregnancy, childbirth or serious conditions such as thyroid dysfunction, lupus, scalp inflammation or other medical conditions.
If hair loss occurs suddenly or has no known cause, it is recommended that you consult a doctor or pharmacist first.
Minoxidil may cause side effects, as with all medicines. Reported side effects include:
Very common: headache.
Common: itching, hypertrichosis or unwanted hair growth, rash, dermatitis, skin inflammation, peripheral oedema, musculoskeletal pain, pain, dyspnoea or difficulty breathing, and depression.

It is recommended that treatment be discontinued and a healthcare professional consulted if chest pain, palpitations, dizziness, weakness, swelling of the hands or feet, sudden weight gain or severe scalp irritation occur.
Each ml of topical solution contains 50 mg of minoxidil as the main active ingredient, equivalent to a concentration of 5%.
The other excipients are: propylene glycol, 96% ethanol and purified water.
The concentration equivalence is as follows: 50 mg/ml = 5%. This means that each ml of the product contains 50 mg of minoxidil.
Minoxidil Biorga 50 mg/ml is a topical treatment option for progressive hair loss. Applying it directly to the scalp allows it to act on the affected area, helping to stimulate hair growth when used consistently.
It is important always to apply it to a dry scalp and to follow the recommended dose. Consistency is key, as results usually appear gradually and may take several months to become noticeable.
This medicine should not be used as a preventative treatment if there is no hair loss, nor in cases of sudden hair loss or hair loss associated with other medical conditions, without first consulting a healthcare professional.
